On Friday April 15, 2005 we had our first GHHF fundraiser with the help of Dr. Mukund Patel (one of our Directors), Dr. Robert Strauch, and Victory Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn. The event was held in the Victory Memorial cafeteria. Both the space and food were donated by the hospital. Entertainment included a fabulous magic show by hand surgeon Dr. Robert Strauch and an impressive violin concert by 18-year old Hugo Borreca.
Our guests also won tons of great raffle prizes such as spa treatments, limo rides, gym memberships, yoga classes, and our two grand prizes, 4 tickets to the minor league Mets team the Brooklyn Cyclones and a ZOOM! Teeth Whitening Treatment valued at $500. All prizes were donated. We all had a great time, but the best part about the fundraiser was being able to share our goal of helping the beautiful country and people of Guatemala.
